Holiday Inn Express & Suites King of Prussia, an IHG Hotel

The hotel has a slight different floor plan to many of the hotels we have stayed at. The counter to check in was off to the right and was unique. The location of the elevators were extremely convenient and very centralized. The room we booked was a king suite. This room had a separate living room and bedroom. Thus provides a noise reduction and buffer area. The room was clean and well appointed. All of the provided toiletry dispensers were filled up. The bed, sofa and chairs were all comfortable. In all I would gladly stay again.

It's now 7 AM, and I've been up for a half hour. It was 1230 AM when we arrived. We'd been up for 21 straight hours. To say we were tired would have been an understatement. On walking into our first room, number 315, it smelled musty, almost like a damp dog. We immediately returned to the reception area and asked for another. Room 610 was marginally better. At least it didn't smell like the last traveller that stayed there bathed their dog in the shower. The room is very small. The air conditioner blower motor sounded like like an out of balance washing machine, and the wall thermostat is a placebo. I discovered that I had to adjust the temperature on the AC unit itself. My bed was literally 6 inches from the air conditioner. Room 610 was not designed to hold 2 queen beds. The breakfast is okay. They have the same powered eggs that all budget hotels serve. I'm not sure exactly how much pork was in each pork sausage link, but if there was any, it was a very small amount. All in all, the property isn't bad. It isn't good either. I know they have better rooms. As a frequent HI Express visitor, I can say I've had better guest experiences. As for the staff, they were both pleasant and helpful. A real disappointment was to find that because I used my employers travel benefit website, I couldn't get my stay points.
